Text Box: Text Box: Father Theodore J. Wrobel was appointed pastor and took over the supervision of the construction of a new stone church to be built on the east corner of 4th and Hawthorne. The Franciscan Sisters and lay teachers of St. Mary’s School taught in classrooms located in the former church.

Text Box: Father Alexander Ludwig was appointed pastor over the 1,200 household community.

Text Box: A new church was planned and groundbreaking ceremonies were held to begin construction .
Text Box: A planning committee was formed to address the increasing need for educational and administrative space.  The additions and renovations to the school were completed in August,  2006. Text Box: This phase raised $1,320,000 to retire the debt.

Text Box: Father Othmar Erren blessed the first St. Mary’s Church on the feast of the Visitation.  The church was built on the corner of 4th and Elm at a cost of $699.10.  It was only a  32 x 40 foot building.

Text Box: The Parish community celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Text Box: Father William Renner was appointed pastor. Religious instruction became an important element of his pastoral ministry.

Text Box: Father Renner formulated plans for a new 600-seat church that was needed due to increased membership and summer crowds.
