ICED LATTES ( this summer )
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of strong coffee or cold brew concentrate.
- Milk: 4 to 6 oz of your choice (whole milk, oat milk, or almond milk work beautifully).
- Sweetener: 1 to 2 tablespoons of Starbucks Simple Syrup, vanilla syrup, or maple syrup. (Or syrup of your choice)
- Ice: Plenty of ice cubes. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Mix the strong coffee & Sweetener: While coffee is hot, stir in your syrup. The heat perfectly dissolves the sugar, which means you won't end up with a sticky layer at the bottom of your glass.
- Prepare the Glass: Fill a tall glass to the brim with ice cubes.
- Add Milk: Pour your cold milk of choice directly over the ice.
- Combine: Pour the warm, sweetened coffee mixture over the milk and ice. Stir gently to integrate. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Expert Tips & Variations
- The Shaken Method: For a barista-style shaken espresso latte, pour your strong coffee (or espresso), ice, sweetener, and a splash of milk into a mason jar or cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously until icy and airy, then strain into a fresh glass of ice. [1, 2]
- Cold Foam Topping: Elevate your latte by topping it with cold foam. Simply froth 1 oz of heavy cream with 1 oz of milk and a splash of vanilla syrup, then spoon it over your finished drink.
